The OpenLearn website gives free access to learning materials from higher education courses.  OpenLearn’s LabSpace makes many different open educational resources (OER) available to you from a wider OER community associated with The Open University.

The LabSpace is currently under redevelopment and has been made read only, you can still view all the content but will be unable to create, remix and reuse content.

LabSpace will be re-launching as OpenLearn Works in Spring 2014

Here are a few things you can expect from the new site:

  • The site will remain a public repository for open educational resources (OER), but in particular will support projects in which The Open University partners other institutions to create, research or use OER.
  • A new homepage will show ‘Editorial Picks’ of new and relevant content.
  • There will be a more advanced search mechanism.
  • All content will be made discoverable through tags.

And what’s staying the same?

  • The site will remain a Moodle-based platform.
  • Content will be provided under the Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 2.0 license, unless otherwise stated.
  • Any signed-in user can create or remix content.
