This module forms part of a suite of materials aimed at people new to working online as students or teachers/tutors. It is being developed as part of the Sussex Learning Network project and is aimed at people with little or no experience of using wikis and blogs and also those who might be blogging but interested in how wikis and blogs might be used in different ways.
Everyone is welcome to use this resource and contribute to the forums or download the unit and remix and reuse - please contribute to the forum and let us know what you think of the module and what uses you've found for it.
As you read through the sections you will find links to external sources. Some of these might have been moved since this module was last edited - while I can only apologise I think it's important to recognise that this is a function of relying on something as dynamic as the 21st century web. It's also difficult to discuss web 2.0 and connections and social networking as though they are separate entities - they are not.
"You get the illusion that all those parts are just there and are being named as they exist. But they can be named quite differently and organized quite differently depending on how the knife moves."
Robert Pirsig - Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance
Given the subject of this module it seems sensible to put these near the top.
If you don't know what they mean I hope you will by the time you've worked through the content. By all means follow the links now - you won't break anything :-)
